Organizational behavior research originated in the late 1920s with the Hawthorne Studies at Western Electric's Hawthorne Works plant in Cicero, Illinois. The studies' findings led to the discovery of the Hawthorne Effect, which describes how people's behavior may change when they know they are being observed.

Meet Our Chief Friction Fixer
Mo is a tech executive with over 25 years of experience, specializing in coaching and consulting to help organizations reduce friction and navigate challenges with agility. She focuses on team building, crisis leadership, and change management, and is an adjunct lecturer at Stanford and an executive coach for Harvard Business School. Mo is the founder of LeiFongCoaching, LLC, and President of the Asian Women Coaching Collective. She spent 15 years at Google as a Senior Director, leading global teams, and advises social impact startups. Mo holds degrees from Stanford and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
